Learn how 5-Hydroxytryptophan can reduce appetite and cravings for brides
5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is a chemical that the body makes from tryptophan, an amino acid found in food. It is also available as a dietary supplement.
5-HTP is used to increase the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain. Serotonin is involved in regulating mood, appetite, and sleep, among other functions.

By increasing the amount of serotonin in the brain, 5-HTP may help to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve sleep, and reduce appetite and cravings for carbohydrates.
5-HTP is converted into serotonin by a specific enzyme in the brain called tryptophan hydroxylase. Once 5-HTP is converted into serotonin, it can then be used by the brain to regulate various functions such as regulating emotions, pain, sleep, and appetite.
It's important to note that 5-HTP is not yet FDA approved for weight loss, however, some studies have shown potential for weight loss for people with depression or anxiety. It is also not recommended for use without consulting with a healthcare professional before taking it, as it can interact with other medications and may cause side effects, specially when taken in high doses.
